Dr. Michael Youssef

The Youssef family moved to America in 1977. In 1978, Michael earned a master’s degree in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in California, followed by a doctorate in social anthropology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He spent nearly ten years with the Haggai Institute, travelling the world over 32 times to teach evangelism and leadership courses, eventually becoming Managing Director at just 31 years old. Settling in Atlanta, Michael became a US citizen in 1984, fulfilling a long-held dream.

In 1987, he founded The Church of The Apostles with fewer than 40 adults, focused on the mission of “Equipping the Saints and Searching for the Lost.” The church has since grown to a congregation of over 3 000 and supports his international ministry, Leading the Way. Millions hear Dr Youssef’s messages worldwide, but behind every broadcast is a pastor’s heart committed to nurturing and caring for his people. God has uniquely equipped him to reach a global audience, with deep cultural insight and a strong grasp of Scripture that transcends boundaries. Drawing on his personal knowledge of the Holy Land’s history and culture, Dr Michael Youssef preaches and teaches with sincerity and authority, bringing life and encouragement to listeners around the world.
