Pacific Garden Mission has produced the series “UNSHACKLED!” since 1950, making it the longest-running radio drama in history. Created in the style of the “Golden Age” of radio, each episode is performed live with original music, creative sound effects, and dynamic performances by professional actors. Today, “UNSHACKLED!” is broadcast nearly 16 000 times weekly on over 3 000 radio stations worldwide. Besides the English version, the series is translated and re-dramatised in languages including Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Romanian, Polish, Korean, Japanese, Farsi, Albanian, Greek, Macedonian, Turkish, Portuguese, and Mandarin.
Founded in 1877, Pacific Garden Mission (known as “The Old Lighthouse”) is the oldest, continuously-operating, Gospel rescue mission in the United States. Throughout the history of the Mission and up to today the staff of the Mission faithfully seeks God and His transforming power to save and restore. The goal of the Mission is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ freely and to provide an environment of spiritual and holistic transformation. At Pacific Garden Mission, every person seeking help is given the tools to build a strong spiritual foundation and a close relationship with Jesus Christ. During their stay at the Mission, individuals are encouraged to grow and improve physically, mentally, and emotionally, with spiritual growth being the foundation. Pacific Garden Mission also shares biblical truth through media by producing the “Unshackled” radio drama, which tells actual stories of God’s transforming power working in the lives of real people.
