The Word Today is a 15-minute programme hosted by father and son, Dr Paul and Doug Schroeder. Each episode uses a common “word” to relate God’s Word to everyday life situations. The informal, conversational style of the presenters resonates not only with Christians but has also caught the interest of those who aren’t part of a church.
An ordained pastor since 1988, Douglas W. Schroeder, son of Paul and Sylvia Schroeder, has served at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church since 1993. He started co-hosting The Word Today in 2007.
Paul R. Schroeder, ordained in 1958, has served at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church since 1967. From 1967 to 1977 he hosted a Milwaukee television show called Answers for Today He has been the host of The Word Today for 29 years, and is continuing on into his 30th year!
