Wisdom for the Heart is a 30-minute daily Bible-teaching programme featuring the sermons of Dr Stephen Davey. This unique ministry guides listeners through the Bible book-by-book, verse-by-verse, and sometimes word-by-word. Alongside each message, printed manuscripts with study questions are available to support your study of God’s Word. Stephen Davey, raised by missionary parents, developed a deep love for Christ, His Church, and His Word. In his final year of high school, he committed his life to serving Christ and prepared for servant-leadership at Liberty University, Tennessee Temple University, Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and Dallas Theological Seminary. After graduating from Dallas Seminary in 1986, Stephen and his wife Marsha, along with their infant twin sons, moved to Cary, NC, to plant Colonial Baptist Church. From the start, Stephen preached verse-by-verse, while Marsha organised the nursery and children’s programmes. The church’s strong commitment to Bible exposition quickly gained recognition, and the congregation grew rapidly.
Stephen also serves as president of Shepherds Theological Seminary, an accredited institution with TRACS and associate membership with ATS, based on Colonial’s campus. He enjoys teaching Pastoral Theology and Creative Bible Teaching and engaging with students. Stephen has authored over 40 books, study guides, commentaries, and booklets published by Ambassador, Kress Biblical Resources, Charity House, and Wisdom for the Heart.
