African English Thru the Bible
Living Word for Africa is an African English translation of Dr J Vernon McGee’s Thru the Bible (TTB) 30-minute Bible study radio programme. Produced and presented by Reverend Asafa Makan’a, the weekday TTB African English programme takes the listener through the entire Bible in just five years, threading back and forth between the Old and New Testaments.
Thru the Bible (TTB) African English, also known as The Living Word for Africa, began airing in 2004. With its daily support, the programme has become a delight, a source of strength, learning and understanding to many listeners.
Through the Bible is a global Bible programme available in over 100 languages and dialects. Our mission mirrors that of founder, Dr McGee: to proclaim the entire Word of God to the whole world.
Pastor Asafa Makan’a is the Bible teacher for the global “Thru The Bible” ministry in African English. Based in Zimbabwe, he has served in Christian ministry for about 30 years, including 23 years in pastoral roles. Asafa is experienced in biblical exegesis, social services, and discipleship within religious institutions. He holds a Master of Theology degree specialising in Leadership and Church Governance from the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa.
