English Thru the Bible
The radio programme Thru The Bible started airing on radio in 1967. is a Bible study radio programme presented by Dr J Vernon McGee. Often referred to as the ‘Bible Bus’, inferring that you can get on and off at any point, this programme takes the listener through the 66 books of the Bible, verse by verse, chapter by chapter in 5 years, going back and forth between the Old and New Testaments.
Dr J. Vernon McGeeDr J. Vernon McGee (1904-1988) is best known for his ‘Thru the Bible’ radio broadcasts. He served as pastor of the Church of the Open Door in Los Angeles for twenty-one years and was also a teacher, lecturer, and author. His degrees include a B.D. from Columbia Theological Seminary, a Th. M. and a Th. D. from Dallas Theological Seminary.
